The College of Bioscience and Bioengineering at Jiangxi Agricultural University offers three majors: Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Biotechnology. The brief introductions to them are as follows.


Bioengineering: The Bioengineering major at Jiangxi Agricultural University, established in 1999, boasts a history over two decades and excels in agricultural microbial resource development, fermentation engineering, genetic engineering, etc. Recognized as a brand major of Jiangxi Province and a first-class major with distinctive characteristics by the Ministry of Education, it features a professional faculty comprising 35 members, with 91% holding doctoral degrees. The major implements a unique and personalized talent training path and has advanced teach-in-practice platforms highlighted by a series of devices, including a multifunctional production line for fermentation and extraction. Graduates typically pursue careers in production, R&D and management within the bioengineering sector.


Biotechnology: The Biotechnology major, initiated as a three-year technical program in 1993 and transformed into a four-year bachelor's program in 2002, has been developing and thriving for more than 30 years. Nowadays a cooperative exchange program with the University of Newcastle in Australia is available. It is recognized as a provincial-level major with distinctive characteristics of Jiangxi and a prioritized major of JXAU.

The faculty consists of 20 full-time teachers, 80% of whom possess doctoral degrees. It provides a comprehensive on-campus base with various scientific research platforms for teaching and training. Besides, students are active in a wide range of innovative entrepreneurship projects and competitions. They maintain a respectable pass rate of over 30% for the postgraduate entrance examination and a first-time employment rate of over 90%.


Pharmaceutical Engineering: Established in 2009, the Pharmaceutical Engineering major at Jiangxi Agricultural University has quickly become a prominent program, ranking second in the comprehensive evaluation for undergraduate majors of general institutes of higher education in Jiangxi Province. With a team of 11 full-time teachers, all holding doctoral degrees, the major offers a well-equipped on-campus teaching and training base, including pilot-scale fermentation and product post-processing facilities. Students engage in numerous innovative entrepreneurship projects and have published an impressive amount of academic papers, with a pass rate for postgraduate entrance examination exceeding 30% and a first-time employment rate  of over 90%.

The three majors all emphasize putting theory into practice, focusing on the cultivation of students' practical abilities and innovative qualities. The employment rate and pass rate for postgraduate entrance examination remain high.
