Jiangxi Agricultural University's National Key Laboratory of Swine Genetic Improvement and Breeding Technology, led by HUANG Lusheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has published a major achievement in the journalNature. They were the first to discover that the ABO genotype significantly affects the abundance of Erysipelotrichaceae bacteria in pig intestines by regulating the concentration of N-acetylgalactosamine, and elucidate its mechanism of action. This research was co-corresponded by Academician HUANG Lusheng, Professor CHEN Congying, and Professor Michel Georges, with Dr. YANG Hui and Dr. WU Jinyuan as co-first authors.
This is the first full research article in Jiangxi Province and the field of animal husbandry science in China to be published inNature, which is of great significance for the independent innovation of the country’s pig breedingindustry.
