The 8th "Xiansu Grand Lecture" in JXAU began

On the afternoon of May 27, 2024, the 8th "Xiansu Grand Lecture" commenced. This time, the lecture series, named after HU Xiansu, an outstanding patriotic Chinese botanist and educator in early 20th century, invited Professor DENG Zixin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Microbiology, member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and, director of the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism. Over 160 teachers and students attended the lecture, presided over by Vice President WANG Wenjun.

Titled  "Popularize the Unpopular, and Perfect the Popular: the science quality and humanism that underpinned my ordinary researches", the lecture focused on Professor DENG’s  hands-on experience of and insights into how to delve into and popularize unpopular research topics, and refine established achievements for perfection. By exemplifying cutting-edge technologies, he encouraged students to venture into the unknown, so as to hone their skills and discover more.
